**Pro wrestler Andy Williams has died. He was 48 years old.**
Williams was best known by his ring name, The Butcher. He built his career competing in several major promotions. These included All Elite Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
The medical emergency happened at a show in Millvale, Pennsylvania. The event took place at Mr. Smalls Theater on Friday night. Williams was competing with his tag team partner, Jesse Guilmette. Guilmette wrestles under the name The Blade. The promotion said Williams collapsed at the very end of his match.
The two men had been teaming together since 2017. They called themselves The Butcher and The Blade. Together they built a reputation across the biggest stages in professional wrestling.
The show was put on by a promotion called Enjoy Wrestling. The company released a statement right after the incident. "Our doctors on staff tended to him immediately, administering CPR until the ambulance arrived," the company said. They sent everyone home. Staff then went to the hospital to wait for updates on Williams.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed his death to TMZ on Sunday. OutKick Dropkick reached out to local authorities as well.
Williams began training as a wrestler in the early 2010s. He stepped in front of a crowd for the first time in 2015. Over the years, he and Guilmette grew into a recognized tag team.
Outside the ring, Williams had a long second career in music. He played guitar for a rock band called Every Time I Die. He joined the group in 1998. He stayed with the band until it broke up in 2022. That is 24 years as a working musician. He ran both careers at the same time.
The wrestling community shared tributes on social media after the news spread Sunday. Fellow wrestlers and fans remembered him as both an athlete and a musician.
Williams left behind real work that fans can still find. His tag team matches are part of the wrestling record. Every Time I Die's music is still available online. Both show what he gave to fans who watched and listened.
